Brookside was established in 1963 by Mr Chris Halsall at its present site by the Ladybrook/Norbury brook alongside the Macclesfield Road at the Poynton, Hazel Grove boundary in North Cheshire.

The business and site expanded rapidly during the 1970s with the boom in demand for DIY and gardening supplies and now covers over 3 acres with products ranging form a packet of seeds to completely installed conservatories. We are particularly proud of our knowledgable and friendly staff who can provide expert gardening advice and aim to make your visit a real pleasure.

A unique feature of the centre is Brookside Miniature Railway providing passenger rides along a half mile of 7¼ inch gauge track, several trains, a station and numerous authentic railway artefacts.
